Members enjoy special invitations to exhibition openings and other special events, an informational newsletter mailed several times a year, announcements of monthly day trips to exciting venues, and discounts on purchases in the Museum Shop.

About the Friends of the New Jersey State Museum
Established in 1968, the Friends of the New Jersey State Museum is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to support the collections, exhibitions and the educational programs of the New Jersey State Museum through advocacy, fundraising and volunteerism. The Friends members comprise the core volunteer and docent group for the Museum and they have dedicated themselves for four decades to furthering the Museums educational mission. The Friends host special events, trips and programs aimed at increasing public awareness of the rich educational and cultural resources of the Museum. The Friends also support annual events such as Super Science Weekend and Kaleidoscope Kids Summer Academy. Becoming a member of the Friends ensures that you are a member of the Museums extended family and you support the important work of our great State Museum.

The Friends of the New Jersey State Museum spent a day touring the “Forts on the Delaware” in September 2005. Led by our own Archaeology/Ethnology Committee Chair, Ian Burrow, (R) families and friends visited Fort Mott on the New Jersey side of the river, pictured here, as well as Fort Delaware.
